Today I'm sharing all of the details about the Maple Valley quilt pattern! It's a modern yet timeless version of a fall quilt, perfect for snuggling on those chilly autumn evenings.
The Maple Valley pattern uses the classic maple leaf quilt block, but in a way that makes them appear as though they're swirling through the air. The falling leaves are then surrounded by a fun and easy pieced border.

Foraged Found and Hand Me Down Fabrics
As I mentioned above, these richly colored prints are from the Foraged Found and Hand Me Down fabric line. I wanted a creamier background so I paired the prints with Moda Bella Snow (#9900-11). It's in the "white" family, but it's not as stark as a bold, bright white like Moda Bella 98 (my usual go-to background).
For this lap sized Maple Valley I chose 15 different fat eighths from the line - which honestly was hard. There were so many lovely prints (and colors) to choose from. Some of my favorite prints from this line were too light and didn't contrast enough from the background fabric.
Longarm Quilting
For the quilting I wanted to add to the feel of falling, floating leaves so I chose a simply wavy line design called Good Vibrations. The original computerized panto has the lines completely parallel to each other, but I offset each row just a bit to get that wave look to it.
The backing is a coordinating Moda Bella Solid #177 called "Home Town Sky" and it goes really well with these prints. Now that it's October and it's getting chilly outside I'm really wishing I would have put a Minky or Cuddle fabric on the backing of this quilt just to level up the cozy factor.
The binding is one of the maroon prints from the Foraged fabric line - such a lovely color!
The Maple Valley quilt patterns are now in my pattern shop, and you can choose between a paper pattern or a PDF (downloadable) pattern.
