Cheer Up Quilt Christmas Version

Today I'm sharing a Christmas version of my Cheer Up quilt pattern. I started this quilt as a sample for my Garden of Quilts class that I taught this year, and was happy to have a good excuse to get it done in time for Christmas!

For this Christmas version of Cheer Up, I started with a few prints from the Good News Great Joy fabric line (by Fancy That Design House / Moda), and then I wandered around one of my local quilt shops to gather a few more that coordinated. The last few prints were added from my stash. And I'm really happy with the final combination!

The Mod Mugs quilt pattern in Oh What Fun fabrics

Today I'm sharing a lap size version of the Mod Mugs quilt pattern. I actually finished this one up a few months ago and shared it on Instagram as a part of the Oh What Fun fabric tour with Poppie Cotton, but wanted to share it here as well!

These sweet Christmas fabrics are perfect for this Mod Mugs quilt - they're all medium- and small scale, they have a vintage feel to them and the colors are so cheery. The little pink Santa print is my favorite in the group!

The Mod Mugs Quilt Pattern

Introducing the Mod Mugs quilt pattern - a precut friendly quilt pattern with four size options. I love this cozy, wintery version sewn up in Winterglow fabrics by Ruby Star Society.

Mod Mugs is a modern and fun, traditionally pieced pattern - meaning there's no paper piecing or templates needed - just basic piecing skills.

I wanted to create a no-fuss Mug quilt that could be customized with different fabrics and optional whip cream topping. I kept the size of the mugs big enough so you could show off your favorite medium and large scale prints. Or fussy cut some favorites too!

Prime Time Quilt Pattern

I'd like to introduce you to the Prime Time quilt pattern! It's a fun, precut friendly pattern with two block options included.

Prime Time is a great way to use Layer Cake squares, but you also have the option of using Charm squares, Fat Quarters, or yardage. And it works with any fabric - florals, geometrics, batiks and even solids. It's really versatile! It would even make a fun I-Spy style quilt with fussy cut fabrics in each block.

Mabon Fabric Make Believe Quilt

Today I'm sharing a throw size version of the Make Believe quilt pattern that I stitched up earlier this year. Make Believe is a fun and modern quilt pattern that's perfect for using precut 10" squares (layer cake squares.)

For this version of Make Believe I used a fabric line called Mabon, designed by Shelley Cavanna for Contempo fabrics by Benartex. I love the bold, saturated colors that Shelley does so well in all of her lines

Lofty Quilt Pattern

Hey friends I have some news to share today! After many, many requests from customers, I've given the Lofty quilt pattern an update!

The most obvious change is that it's got a brand new cover, and it is also now a full-color, booklet style pattern.

But if you take a closer look, you'll notice that there are now a lot more fabric options for you! That was the one most requested thing that you asked for. And I listened!

Prime Time Quilt in My Favorite Things Fabrics

I have two new things to share with you today! New fabric, and a new pattern that will be available soon! And even if it's not quite feeling like spring outside, it sure is looking more spring-like inside today!

Clear Sky Quilt in Kona Solids

Today I'm sharing a version of the Clear Sky quilt sewn in Kona cotton solids. These colors have been one of my favorite combos lately!

The Clear Sky pattern is a fun star sampler quilt - there are eight different blocks and if you love star blocks (like I do) then you'll love this pattern.

It also has instructions for making a scrappy version, which is my favorite way to make a Clear Sky quilt.

Top Notch Lap Size Quilt in Country Rose Fabrics

Today I'm sharing a fast and fun lap size version of the Top Notch quilt pattern.

Top Notch is one of my favorite ways to use Layer Cake squares. There's minimal cutting and the blocks are quick to piece. And the throw size Top Notch uses 40 (10") squares, so there's very little waste.

I had a Layer Cake of Country Rose fabric (designed by Lella Boutique for Moda Fabrics) and I wanted to use it in a pattern that allowed me to use the whole Layer Cake. I love this whole line all together - which is not always the case with fabric lines.

Make Believe Lap Size Quilt

Today I get to share a lap size version of the Make Believe quilt pattern that I just finished up last week. If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen some behind the scenes shots of my progress as I worked.

For this quilt I had the opportunity to use some of the new Treasured Threads fabrics, designed by my friend Amber Johnson - who you might know better as the face behind Gigi's Thimble.

Amber is a talented pattern designer and book author and this is her first fabric line with Poppie Cotton fabrics.

Spring Dreams Baby Quilt Pattern

A few months ago I designed this quilt for Quilter's World magazine and I am excited to now able to share it!

Spring Dreams quilt pattern by Andy Knowlton of A Bright Corner - baby quilt pattern using only 4 fat quarters in Emma fabrics by Moda Fabrics

I've always loved giant barn quilts and I used one as my inspiration for that large center star.

Once I had the big star in the middle, I felt like the corners were too empty so I took the same block and scaled it down smaller to fit in the corners.

A Scrappy Heart Quilt

A few months ago I shared a free block tutorial called the Build A Heart block.

This last week I finished my throw size quilt made using different variations of the block and I thought you'd like to see!

Build A Heart scrappy heart quilt pattern by A Bright Corner quilt blog

The Build A Heart pattern is a fun way to use up scraps - each half of a heart uses a 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" rectangle.

My pink and red scrap bins were overflowing so I had no problem finding enough scraps to make a throw size version! In fact, I probably should have kept going and made a bigger quilt to help use up even more scraps.

Top Notch Quilt Pattern Crib Size

Today I am sharing a crib size version of the Top Notch pattern. I used a pack of precut 10" squares from the Primrose Hill fabric line for this sweet little quilt, and I stitched this up a couple of months ago but never shared photos of the finished quilt.

The Top Notch pattern is fairly new to the shop - I released it a few months ago and so far have only shared one other sample version. I have made several different samples, and I'll be sharing them in the upcoming weeks!
