Warming Up + Fabric Stack Friday

It is SO.VERY.COLD here.  My youngest son asks me daily if summer will be here soon.  I’m running out of things to tell him.  I suppose I could make a paper chain type of thing to help him visually understand just how many more cold days we have left, but I’m afraid that it will make me cry to see how long that chain will be.

I bought this stack of Noteworthy fat quarters last week with no particular use in mind.  They were just so happy and warm looking.  They sit on my sewing table and cheer me up each time I go in there.

I’m considering using the FQ and this block pattern to make myself a “you can make it through February” quilt!

  1. How about a penny jar? Each cold day add a penny...when warm weather arrives he gets to go to the dollar store for a swim toy. :) Something to look forward to, instead of dreading the next few months.

  3. I'm not sure where you live, but we are really cold today too. Brrr. I do love the winter but I also need something to look forward to also. Yay for seasons. This is such a lovely bundle. It does warm the heart. Can't wait to see what you make out of it.

  5. Love that fabric line and the block pattern as well. I'm planning on using that block pattern with 'Flirt' from Sandy Gervais.

  6. I love Noteworthy! I recently made a pillow and table runner with it. And it was a very cheerful fabric to sew with! Great block pattern for this!

  7. Hehehe, I giggle coz I'm hanging out for cooler weather! Here in South Australia we've had a very warm dry summer, and I can't wait for the sunny days and cool nights of autumn. We're a bit the opposite to you guys in North America. We get probably six months of summer conditions, 3 months of winter and 6 weeks each of autumn and spring. Trust me, endless sunshine can lower your mood as much as endless grey dreary weather. I love noteworth, and I love that quilt block too. I think that would make a gorgeous quilt to lift your mood through February ;)
