Sew and Tell Friday

This week’s Sew and Tell is an apron that I’m giving away on my other blog as part of a virtual cookie swap I’m hosting.

In the past, I haven’t been a huge apron fan. I like the concept of an apron, but the neck straps always bother me so I can’t wear them for more than 15 or 20 minutes. I recently saw a pattern in a shop for a criss-cross back apron and I ran home to make my own version. Now don’t worry – I didn’t rip off the whole apron pattern. The one I saw was quite frilly and girly. I prefer basic, good-for-workin’ aprons.

The one I came up with is a plain front, reversible, criss-cross backed version – and I love it. It is hands down the most comfortable apron I’ve ever owned! It took me less than an hour to whip one up – and then I had some time so I made another one to giveaway on my food blog.

Here’s a view of the front…

…and a view of the back. The straps are attached at the top and then slide through loops at the waist. They can tie in back like this – or wrap around and tie in the front.

If you want one of your own, you can go enter the giveaway to win it!

So….what did you finish this week? Visit Amy’s Sew and Tell to see what others are creating!
