Wrap Around Quilt Tutorial and Pattern

I have a little update for you on a tutorial and free quilt pattern that I first shared years ago!

This quilt is called Wrap Around and I made this quilt top for a tutorial here on my blog showing how to sew a partial seam - but I recently quilted it up and thought I'd share it here.

These blocks are made using a partial seam technique - it's one of those things that is not nearly as complicated as it sounds. I promise!

My original tutorial from 2022 is here. I have plenty of photos to step you through the partial seam technique and once you try it you'll see that it's not difficult.

And as a bonus I have a handy, printable version available for newsletter subscribers. If you're not yet a subscriber, you can sign up here and the PDF pattern will be emailed to you!

The finished Wrap Around quilt measures 45.5" x 58.5" and uses 3 charm packs (or 126 total 5" squares) plus a 1/2 yard for the squares in the block centers.

You could also use a Jelly Roll for this quilt! This size would use 32 strips (2.5" x WOF).

For my quilt I used the Daisy Fields fabric line, designed by Beverly McCullough for Riley Blake Designs. It's out of print now, but you can still find some in Bev's shop here, or on etsy here.

This fabric line is one of my favorites - the colors are right up my alley!

For the backing fabric I used a coordinating blue solid fabric. The binding fabric is a navy blue print that I found at my local quilt shop.

  1. Such a cute quilt! I just checked the tutorial out, and it DOES look like it's easier done than it sounds. I can't wait to work this into my sewing lineup! :-)

  2. I would just use squares and rectangles and piece in rows then join the rows together alternating rows with rows of all squares and sq/rec combo.

  3. WOW..I saw this quilt earlier and was intimidated by the block, but just watched your tutorial and it is sewww simple,,THANK YOU for this video, for sure I'll be making this quilt...
