Prime Time Baby Size Quilt

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a baby quilt that I finished up a couple months ago, but realized that I hadn't shared it here yet! This is the baby sized Prime Time quilt made with Berry Basket fabrics.

I made this using the leftover pieces of fabric from another project - which always feels so good to do!

A few months ago, I had just finished up making a quilt for a magazine (which I'll share soon) and I loved these fabrics so much I didn't want to just add them to my scrap bins. I realized that with some.... creative cutting I could squeeze a baby quilt out of the leftovers. Don't you love when that happens?

The fabrics are called Berry Basket, designed by April Rosenthal for Moda Fabrics. It's a sweet and cheerful line with pink, red, aqua, and navy prints.

The gray contrast print that I used is one that I found at my local quilt shop, and I think it works really well with the other prints.

It's subtle enough to not compete with the Berry Basket prints, but has great texture. A solid would have worked fine here, but I like to add texture when I can!

The Prime Time quilt pattern is a versatile one. It uses precut 5" squares, 10" squares, fat quarters, or yardage.

The pattern also has a large-square variation so if you have some medium and larger scale prints the Prime Time pattern is a great option (see both versions here). The large-square variation of Prime Time is also faster to make :)

The Prime Time pattern includes four size options: baby, throw, twin, and queen. (You can see a throw size here in this post, and a twin size here). This baby size quilt measures 53" x 53" which is a nice generous size for a baby quilt. It would easily work as a lap quilt!

I have both PDF (instant download) and paper copies of the Prime Time pattern in my shop.

For the quilting on this one I used a longarm computerized design called Flower Child.  The binding fabric is one of the red and pink prints from the Berry Basket line, and for the quilt backing I found a coordinating pink solid fabric at my local quilt shop.
