This Afternoon

This afternoon I was working with a bit of Sweet Divinity (The Quilted Fish for Riley Blake).

Sweet Divinity fat quarter stack

I grabbed these fat quarters from The Sproutz Store a few months ago (love these ladies – they’re always quick to set up custom orders for me and their prices rock.  I always take a few minutes to breeze through their clearance section too!)

These FQ sat on my shelf for quite awhile but I knew I would eventually come up with the perfect project for them.  This afternoon I cut these fabrics into 4” squares and sewed them all back together:

I sure appreciate the simplicity of squares.  It took me a little over an hour to cut and sew these together and once I got into a rhythm it was mindless work.  I love when my hands are kept busy but my mind has the freedom to wander.

It was a lovely break from laundry, dishes and grade-school-homework-coaching!

  3. I love the simplicity of cutting and sewing all the same size squares. It's good to give my brain some much needed time-off! :)
