Well hello and happy Friday! I wish I could call this next quilt a recent finish, but this one has been done since July and it's taken me this long to get some good photos of it and add it here to my website. 

This is the Star Trails quilt, sewn up using Tulip Tango fabrics.

Dancing Leaves Pattern in Quilts and More Magazine

Hello there - I have a quick share today! With the weather getting cooler and the leaves changing colors I'm in the mood to start some fall projects!

This Dancing Leaves quilt is in the Fall 2022 issue of Quilts & More magazine, and it would be the perfect fall project to work on this month!

My idea for this quilt originally came about by playing with a classic Maple Leaf block. 

But then I as I was working with different quilt layouts, I found that I really wanted more movement to the quilt. The regular leaf blocks were so....linear! 

So I went back to the design board and played with the block to make each leaf at a different angle. Much better! The instructions step you through it and it's not tricky at all.

Top Notch Quilt in Reverie Fabrics

Today I'm sharing another version of the Top Notch quilt pattern - this is the Ruby Star Society Reverie Top Notch quilt.

Reverie is a new line (heading to quilt shops in October!) from Ruby Star Society designed by Melody Miller. It has a beautiful combination of warm and cool prints and for this quilt I chose to mix both together in one quilt.

How To Sew A Partial Seam

Today is my turn on the Back to School Blog Hop - a chance for all of us to learn some great new tips, tricks, and techniques from 16 different quilters.

Today I'll be sharing a piecing technique that's a great one to have in your tool box. At first it might be a little intimidating but once you learn it, it really unlocks a lot of great block ideas and patterns. 

Have you heard of partial seams? Partial seams are not difficult - the best way for me to explain partial seams is to show you...I'll step you through it, using a tutorial for this 6 1/2" Wrap Around quilt block.
