It was given to me on my 60th birthday by my Mama who pieced and quilted it by hand after having had a debilitating stroke. The quilt had layed untouched for over 50 years with only the squares completed. When she decided to finish it, the girls had to be removed from the original white squares and placed on new fabric. She embroideried on each dolls hat and the dresses are made from fabric of dresses of four generations, which makes it very special. The quilt means so much to me. I wish I had a pic to add here. I guess the meaning to all of this is...As Charlie Brown says, "Never, ever give up."
