A Wholehearted Crib Size Quilt

Hello friends today I'm sharing a sweet little crib sized Wholehearted quilt made from a new fabric line from Poppie Cotton.

Honestly it's been delightful working with these spring-colored fabrics this week. It reminds me that spring (and the flowers it brings) is just around the corner!

Wholehearted is a sampler style quilt pattern that is fat quarter friendly and includes four size options. This little quilt is the crib size and used just 6 fat quarters along with some background fabric.

For the prints I used the Finding Wonder fabric line designed by Sheri McCulley for Poppie Cotton. For my quilt I chose to use the lighter pinks, blues and yellows from the line. It really has such a sweet, spring vibe to it! I love the little dragonflies and butterflies.

You can see more of the Finding Wonder line here and it will be in shops soon!

The Wholehearted pattern uses some of your favorite classic quilt blocks - like sawtooth star, nine patch, & churn dash- and frames each one with a heart block.

Each of the classic blocks has multiple layout variations included in the pattern diagrams so you're able really have fun playing with each one and creating your own unique quilt.

Wholehearted is also super cute as a scrappy quilt and I added extra details in the pattern to make it easier to create a scrappy version.

The pattern includes four total size options: crib (like this one), throw, twin, and queen. All are fat quarter friendly!

For the backing on this quilt I used a super soft Cuddle fabric (Shannon Fabrics) and I believe this color is called Blush. A bonus is that it was wide enough that I didn't have to piece the backing - just even up the cut edges and load it for quilting. Also, that softness just plusses the snuggle factor in this little quilt!

I kept the quilting a little more open so the quilt would have a nice drape to it. The design is called Going Loopy and it's a computerized edge to edge design that I used on my Handi Quilter Fusion.
