Court Jester Quilt Finish

Happy Tuesday!  The sun is out today, the sky is blue and I think it might even be warm enough for an outside run!  In quilting news, I have a finished quilt to share - and this is a favorite of mine.  I love the pattern, I love the colors, and I love the finished size.

The pattern is called Court Jester by Hello Melly Designs.

It looks waaay more complicated than it actually is - I promise!  Those are the fun quilts to make, right?  Melanie does a great job of breaking down each step and there are plenty of diagrams to help along the way too.

The pattern does use triangle templates, but when I was cutting out my fabrics I realized that I could use my Tri-Recs rulers instead (want to know more about these rulers and how they workCheck out this post.)  You can find Tri-Recs rulers here from the Fat Quarter Shop.

Tri Recs rulers so handy for triangle quilts

This pattern is fat quarter friendly, and I used a FQ bundle of Rotary Club from Cotton + Steel - I'm a big fan of this color combo!  Out of all of the lines C+S has released, Rotary Club has been my favorite.  I'm glad I grabbed a bundle of it while I could.

And I love the secondary design that appears in the quilt, don't you?

Quilting:  Modern Twist edge to edge design
Notes:  I made the twin sized version of the pattern, left off one row and omitted the borders.

I'll be back on Sunday with this month's Second Look Sunday post.  I'm binding the quilt for that post today and I can't wait to share it with you. Now off I go to enjoy some of this sunshine!

Happy Quilting! --Andy

  2. I do love this quilt! I’m not a blue person, but it’s delightful! I have a set of tri rec rulers that I haven’t used yet because I haven’t found a pattern I’ve wanted to make....until now!
